Regency Centers resubmits Westwood plans

Thank you for your ongoing interest in Westwood Shopping Center and Regency Centers' vision for redeveloping the property and transforming it into a more appealing, convenient destination for community residents to visit, shop, dine and enjoy. The proposed plans aim to preserve the very best of what Westwood has to offer—a convenient, connected location providing essential neighborhood services—while revitalizing the property with something fresh, new and modern for the community.

The plans were recently explored in a piece by the Washington Business Journal.

Regency Centers officially filed its Site Plan No. 820180190 and Preliminary Plan No. 12070170 with the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission in May. Following feedback from the community, Commission Staff and the Commission’s Development Review Committee, Regency Centers submitted its revised plans early last month. You can view the revised plans and all related documents using the links above (note the respective publication dates are in September and October). The revised plans include an improved layout of townhomes and transportation enhancements, among other things.

We currently anticipate a public Planning Board hearing in January 2019. Then, following approval of the preliminary and site plans, certified plans, record plat and all necessary permits, we anticipate groundbreaking on Phase 1 next year.

Thank you again for your ongoing interest,
The Westwood Communications Team
